It was on a fateful day in December of 2001, Simon discovered this house after returning from a wedding at Brookside Country Club.
The building is uniquely situated within the country club and sits on two acres of wooded property providing a wonderfully idyllic and scenic natural backdrop for Simon's work. “Even after 50 years, this building still maintains a contemporary look. Although I knew it needed a lot of work, I immediately envisioned endless possibilities." says Simon. It was in April 2002 that renovation officially began.
With help from a talented and innovative crew of tradesmen, landscapers, and numerous others, both the interior and the exterior of the property have undergone extensive renovations to mirror Simon's vision. In renovating the Studio, the landscape was just as important as the structure; with this in mind, the surrounding landscape was designed to blend seamlessly with country club; over 500 plants and trees were placed around the property.
As a testament to the success of the trans-formation, "our studio is now often mistaken by first-time Brookside visitors for the club house," smiles Simon
